A blog by the folks at Erskine Design
For some reason he calls himself Simonski, but he’s our founder and our company Grandad. Ruling from afar on the Isle of Man along with his wife (and our company Mum) Angela, he’s responsible for the business infrastructure of Erskine, diligently dealing with all the boring stuff like accounts. Simon’s a man of many hats, and is currently recording his opus, ThirtySix.
Joining us in July 2011, after cutting his teeth at an agency in Leeds, Sam brings another pair of keen designer-eyes to the Erskine team. Sam brings a love of grid-based design, typography and colour theory to complement the team dynamic. He’s also a musician and devoted Arsenal supporter (but we won’t hold that against him).
Matt joined the team as a developer in June 2010, and he’s been slaving over a hot computer ever since.
In his spare time, he enjoys puzzles, procedural detective shows, walks on the beach and big knitwear jumpers. He has a blog that he doesn’t update and a Github page he rarely uses.
Wil joined Erskine in early 2010 after a stint as a successful freelancer. He’s our all-round developer & production lead, as comfortably with front-end technologies as he is getting stuck into Django or ExpressionEngine addons. He rides a large motorbike and drinks vodka neat, with no ice, like he’s straight out of Eastenders.
Garrett joined Erskine Design in January 2011 shortly after running a small web design agency in Texas for 4 years.
He’s a sucker for front-end development and the ExpressionEngine content management system – spending most of his day turning complex systems into clean, standards compliant code.
Aside from being incredibly tall, Phil Swan’s an interaction and visual designer of the highest caliber. He’s a consistent beacon of calm, tranquility and dry wit in an otherwise rather chaotic agency. Phil can currently be found obsessing over the crispness of his SVG images and catching up on Neighbours at the weekends.
